Lavender linen spray is a great alternative to artificial room freshener. And, it’s simple to make! This lavender linen spray has become my go-to natural room spray.
Ever since I learned about the amazing qualities of essential oils, I’ve used them in everything from natural hair and body products to natural household cleaners.
Once I started learning about how many chemicals were in our cleaning products, I went on a mission to replace everything with more natural alternatives.
One of the hardest things to replace has been scented candles and room spray.
Thankfully, I love the smell of lavender, so this lavender linen spray has become my go-to natural room and linen spray recipe in our home.
You could also use another essential oil in place of the lavender and it would work just as well.
This lavender linen spray is so simple to make with just a few readily-available ingredients. You can use either vodka or witch hazel in this recipe. I used witch hazel this time.

I love this simple recipe! Can a plastic bottle be used? Thank you for sharing at Party In Your PJ’s.
Joy Kincaid says
Yes, you can also use plastic if you prefer
Nicole says
Actually you have to use a special type of plastic bottle. Essential oils will degrade a “regular” plastic spray bottle. You have to get specific types of plastic bottles, known as plastic 2 bottles or ones that have the HDPE or PET(E) on the label. The label will be stamped on the bottom of the bottles. These types will not react with the oils and break down.

Oh la la! What a lovely gift idea. Thank you for sharing.
Joy Kincaid says
It does make a great gift!

Love this idea, but does it have to be a glass bottle? Thank you for sharing at Party In Your PJ’s.
Joy Kincaid says
No, feel free to use any bottle you have on-hand! Some people think essential oils shouldn’t be put in plastic, but it’s totally up to you.
Jan says
Could you make sachets using poly fil and spray with this. Should you use more drops??
Joy Kincaid says
Hi Jan! To make sachets, I would just drop a few drops of essential oil directly on the poly fil, and not bother with the spray. The scent of the spray doesn’t last long enough for it to work in a sachet. Hope that helps!

Is there a reason you’re using a 16 oz spray bottle but only filling it half way? I’ve seen so many other tutorials do the same thing, so I wanted to know if there’s a particular reason. I’m giving the spray as a gift and want to fill it completely. Should I just double the recipe?
Joy Kincaid says
I was just using the bottle I had on-hand! But you can definitely use a smaller bottle. For gift giving, I would recommend buying a smaller bottle, like these: https://amzn.to/2rVGi0r

How lovely, this must make everything smell wonderful! I will have to try this!
Joy Kincaid says
I just love spraying it all over! It's not a strong lavender scent, so it's pretty faint (I used 35 drops of essential oil), but I like it that way.
