Amy, thank you so much for stopping by and taking the time to leave a comment. It's so encouraging to hear from other families who use HOD and enjoy it. Thanks for the encouragement!

We just started using Beyond with my 6 year old. We love it so far! The history books are great and I love that she's learning how to read using the Beginner's Bible. She actually begs to read "her Bible" several times a day. 🙂 I'm looking forward to all of the read-alouds. I've been doing some "previewing" because I just can't resist the temptation. I just found your blog from the Wise Woman blog and I'm in love!!! I can't wait to read more. Blessings to you!!

I'm so glad to hear that you're liking HOD so far, Rebecca! I've gone through each of the 3 guides we'll be using (page by page), and yesterday I made a schedule to see how we would fit it all in. I'm very excited to get started.
Thank you so much for your kind words about my blog, and blessings to you also!

I REALLY admire people who home school. I think it's incredible and really special to be both a mother and a teacher. All the best with your new curriculum. 🙂
Joy Kincaid says
Thank you so much, Hannah. I've known I would want to educate my children at home since I was 16, so it's the fulfillment of a dream for me. I love mothering and teaching them! 🙂

We use it and absolutely love it! I went without it last year and my oldest asked if we could go back to it. I'm so glad because I really like it!

I'm so glad to hear so many positive opinions about it! Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment!

I have never even heard of this program. I love Sonlight, but this looks like something to look into. Thanks so much for sharing!
Joy Kincaid says
I wasn't very familiar with it, either. I often refer to Sonlight's book lists. There's a lot to love there. 🙂

I have heard nothing but good things about HOD. We haven't used it yet though. I'll be looking forward to hearing how you all like it. We are using Teaching Textbooks for the first time this year for math and I am excited to see how it all goes! 🙂
Joy Kincaid says
We're using Teaching Textbooks, too! We've already started using it, and the kids FINALLY love doing math–it's a winner!
Canadagirl says
I hope this is a wonderful year for you all. I have never heard of it but the books look neat. [o= I am still figuring out what we will do. I guess I need to REALLY start making some decisions soon. [o=

Joy Kincaid says
LOL! The books are for all five children! Oh, MFW looks so wonderful, too. I have many friends who use and love that. And I really love the people and the heart behind MFW. I'm sure I'll be sharing thoughts about HOD as we go along. I'm very excited about it!
Lily says
Good luck with the new home schooling year. We are going to be resting for a few more weeks yet but I have started my preparation at long last!
Joy Kincaid says
Thank you, Lily! We are planning to start math soon, but I may not fully delve into our school days until the first week of September. We just have so much going on in August. Enjoy the weeks of resting!
Collette says
Oh my, all of those books look just wonderful!!! I can't give you any personal experience, BUT a good friend of mine uses this curric & *loves* it. I'm still finalizing all of our currics for the year…hoping to post about it one of these days, lol! 🙂 So exciting to see what you have planned!! Blessings to you! 🙂
Joy Kincaid says
I know, just looking at the books makes me feel excited and happy inside! I can't wait to see what you're using, Collette! You always inspire me. ♥
Sally says
Joy, we are moving from Ambleside online to HOD! Preparing for my 11yo, Beyond for my 8 yo, Little hearts for my 5 year old, and super lite little lands to heaven for my 3 yo! we have started Preparing and Little Hearts and love it!
Joy Kincaid says
No way, Sally! We're using the same thing?! How fun! 🙂 We'll be using Creation to Christ for my older daughters (11 and 13), Bigger for my 9-year-old, and Little Hearts for my 6 year old (who will be 7 in October). Can't wait to encourage each other along the journey, and thanks so much for sharing that you're enjoying it so far!
