Apple Dip Recipe

Every year, when apples are in abundance, we make up a batch of this and savor the taste of fall.

I first tasted this recipe when a friend brought it to a church potluck. After a few bites, I begged her for the recipe, and she kindly shared it with me.

I’m so thankful she was willing to share, and now I’m sharing it with you!

Ingredients Needed to Make Apple Dip

As I mentioned above, you only need three ingredients for this super easy fall recipe!

  • 1 (8 oz) package of cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

We usually double these amounts and make a larger batch of apple dip.

Also, we’ve used several different sweeteners through the years. You can use traditional brown sugar, organic brown sugar, sucanat, or even coconut sugar.

With the brown sugar alternatives, sometimes the completed recipe can be a bit more grainy in texture, but it’s still delicious!

The apple dip in these photos was made with coconut sugar, and we all agreed that it was still super good.

How to Make Apple Dip

To make this apple dip recipe, all you do is mix the ingredients together, slice some apples, and enjoy!

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, combine cream cheese, brown sugar, and vanilla.
  2. With an electric mixer, mix well until all of the brown sugar has been blended into the cream cheese and vanilla. You want the mixture to be very light, smooth, and creamy. Keep beating with the electric mixer until it reaches this stage of perfect creaminess.
  3. Serve with sliced apples.

Our favorite apples to have with apple dip are Gala apples. We love the sweet and slightly tart taste of Galas the best. But feel free to use any apples you wish!

How to Keep Sliced Apples from Browning

Just a tip about the apples.  If you slice them ahead of time and want to keep them from turning brown, try soaking them in salt water.

According to this article, mix up a salt solution. Add 1/2 teaspoon salt per cup of cold water.

After slicing each apple, place it in a bowl filled with cold salted water. Allow the apple slices to soak for 5-10 minutes, then drain.

If you’re not planning to serve the apple slices immediately, store them in an airtight container or plastic zipper bag.

When you’re ready to serve them, rinse the apple slices with tap water to rinse away any saltiness.

They should keep longer after their short soak in the salt water solution.

  1. That sounds tasty. I would probably add a dash of cinnamon because I like it so much. I also like peanut butter. That is so quick and easy. – Margy
