Best Natural Makeup Brands + 100 Percent Pure Review

The best natural makeup brands I’ve found that actually work! My all natural makeup picks.

If you’ve been reading here for very long, you might remember that I used to recommend a particular natural makeup brand.

I used makeup from this particular company for quite a few years, but I was never totally satisfied with it.

I loved the fact that it was natural, but it just didn’t work the way I wanted it to.

Finally, I became so frustrated with it that I went back to mainstream makeup.

Even though it wasn’t my first choice, I decided it was worth using all the chemicals to get makeup that actually worked.

Switching to Natural Makeup

This year, I decided it was time to make the switch back to natural makeup. I determined to keep trying until I found a non-toxic makeup line that would work for me.

And I finally found it!

After trying several different natural makeup brands and products, I finally landed on a collection that I love.

Best Natural Makeup Brands

Some of my favorite natural makeup products come from the following three brands:

  1. 100 Percent Pure
  2. Burt’s Bees
  3. Jane Iredale

I’ve been using Burt’s Bees lipstick and lip shimmers for years, and I’ve also been happy with the Jane Iredale products I’ve tried (concealer and pressed powder).

100 Percent Pure is a new all natural organic makeup brand to me, and I love it!

I know there are more options out there, but these are the best natural makeup brands I’ve tried so far. Here’s a rundown of my current favorite products.

Best All Natural Lipstick

I’m at a point in my life where I need lipstick. I mean, without it I look a bit pale. So, I wear it pretty much all the time.

When I started revamping my makeup, lipstick was the first product I started with. Since it’s something you’re putting on your mouth, it seems like natural lipstick is a must.

As I mentioned above, I’ve been using Burt’s Bees lipstick for years. I still like it, but it doesn’t stay on as long as I’d like.

My new favorite is The 100 Percent Pure lipstick. It’s amazing! I have two different ones, the Fruit Pigmented Cocoa Butter Matte Lipstick in Cassia, and the Fruit Pigmented Pomegranate Oil Anti Aging Lipstick in Calendula.

These are seriously the best lipsticks I’ve ever had! The texture is beautiful, it’s long-lasting (especially the cocoa butter matte lipstick), and the fruit scent is an added plus!

I also love the Creamy Long Last Lip Liner in Pink Brandy.

Best Natural Eye Makeup

As someone with lighter eyes and eyelashes, I also seem to need eye makeup.

The 100 Percent Pure eye makeup is just what I was looking for. I have very sensitive eyes, and I also wear contacts, but these products don’t irritate my eyes at all, so that’s a win.

I bought the Pretty Naked Palette, which includes three eye shadows, a blush, and a luminizer. It’s nice to have everything all together in the one palette.

I use the eye shadows from this palette on an almost-daily basis.

In addition, I also received the Punk Princess Palette for free during a recent promotion, and I’m so glad to have more color options!

The Creamy Long Last Liner (in the color Blackest) works just like traditional eye liner. And the Ultra Lengthening Mascara is amazing! I have the Black Tea shade. I love that it smells like berries.

As I’m getting older, I’ve noticed that my eyebrows aren’t as full, and they’ve gotten paler. For awhile, I went around looking like I didn’t have eyebrows. But then my older daughter taught me about eyebrow products. They make such a difference!

The 100 Percent Pure Green Tea Fiber Brow Builder in Soft Brown is just what I was needing. It really helps define the brows.

I also use the Long Last Brows in Soft Brown. This brow gel conditions, shapes, and fills out your eyebrows. And it lasts for a very long time. I use some every day, and the container is still full!

Natural Foundation

For foundation, I’m using the Bamboo Blur Matte Makeup, and I’m loving it! I have the lightest color (creme), and it matches my skin well. Having acne-prone skin, I was concerned that it might cause me to break out, but it hasn’t!

I also tried the 2nd Skin Concealer, but I got the wrong color the first time. One of the great things about 100 Percent Pure is that they have a 45-day return policy, and they make returns so easy. If you end up with something that doesn’t work for you, they’ll gladly refund your money or give you an exchange.

Where to Find All Natural Makeup

Finding non-toxic makeup products locally can be a challenge, unless you live in a big city. And even then, it’s not always easy! I order most of my natural makeup online.

Here’s a list of the products I use on a regular basis:

Bamboo Blur Matte Makeup in Creme

Pretty Naked Palette

Creamy Long Last Liner in Blackest

Ultra Lengthening Mascara in Black Tea

Green Tea Fiber Brow Builder in Soft Brown

Long Last Brows in Soft Brown

Cruelty Free Dual Ended Eyebrow Brush

Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm

Creamy Long Last Lip Liner in Pink Brandy

Cocoa Butter Matte Lipstick in Cassia

Pomegranate Oil Anti Aging Lipstick in Calendula

Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer in Watermelon

I have a few more things from 100 Percent Pure on my wish list, but they’ll have to wait until I can afford them (buying them slowly over time, as I’m able).

Do you use natural makeup? What would you consider to be the best natural makeup brands?

  1. Thank you so much for sharing this! I have been using traditional makeup and do not like putting all of that on my face. While I would like to wear it more, I won’t b/c of what is in them. These all look awesome!

    Thanks for linking up @LiveLifeWell!

    Blessings,

    Amy

  2. It really is hard to find makeup without toxic ingredients. I make most of my own, but some you just want the convenience of buying and it’s hard to find something decent. Thanks for putting all this together and sharing on the Homestead Blog Hop. Can’t wait to see more this Wednesday.

  3. I am a minimalist with makeup (haven’t always been, but more so as I age) now at 44. Like you, I’ve tried to switch to safer and more natural products. I like Lavera Tinted Moisturiser and use it for those times when I want to look more “made up”. Physician’s Formula organic mascara (love that it is available at Target so I can just buy a new one when it’s time to replace rather than wait to place an order), and Burt’s Bees lip oil or Shimmer. Also, I use a bit of eyeliner. I like Lavera for that but got Physician’s Formula last time (not marketed as organic or anything like that).

I will keep this post in mind for next time. Might try the eyeliner. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Thanks for sharing what you use, Cathy! I haven’t tried Burt’s Bees lip oil—I’ll have to look into that.
