What I Wore

My children are all growing up…and most of our birthdays are in the summer.  I wore this outfit for my second daughter’s twelfth birthday party.
Dress:  Target
Cardigan:  Target
Tank Top:  Walmart, years ago
Necklace:  Christopher & Banks
And I live in my flip-flops all summer!
Favorite Natural Makeup:  Cowgirl Dirt
Once upon a time, I ordered a necklace from Christopher & Banks.  And instead of the necklace I ordered, they sent me this one.  I would have never picked this out for myself, but I noticed that it actually goes with several outfits I already have, and I’ve worn it several times.  So I decided to just keep it.  🙂
After taking the above photos, the weather was so humid that my hair was completely frizzed out.  So I went inside and put it in a bun held up with a Flexi Clip:
But then I decided to try out some Lilla Rose You-Pins, and I ended up with this bun.  It was quite comfortable.
My youngest daughter happened to be outside with me taking pictures, so I thought I’d include a few of her (since she’s so precious!).
Our kitten, Mittens, thought her pouffy skirt looked fun to play with!
My mom bought this skirt from Zulily a couple of years ago and gave it to my daughter for her birthday.  I love the pink fluffiness of it!And, I just had to share this beautiful hairstyle created with a Lilla Rose Flexi Clip:

Isn’t it beautiful?  This would look different in my naturally curly hair, but I’m thinking of trying it with my oldest daughter’s hair, which is straight and smoother than mine.  Flexi Clips are so versatile!

  1. Joy –

That hairstyle at the end is gorgeous! If you do try it out – could you try to do a picture tutorial?! I'm not good at seeing one picture and copying it – especially since I'm doing it to my own hair and not someone else's. I only have one (large) flexi clip, and I'm working to grow my hair out a bit longer so I can actually make it work better for me. =) Then I'll try to increase my supply. =)

    Blessings,
    Joy! (how fun!)

    1. Hi Joy!

If I ever try it, I'll consider doing a tutorial. To me it looks basically like a Gibson Tuck, which is really pretty simple (and I like simple!).

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  2. Hi Joy,
thanks for leaving a comment at my end for my little girls' birthday. That outfit that you were wearing is very pretty and relaxed. I like it a lot.
    I like the necklace especially.
But my fave was the photo with your little girl and the tutu with the cat mittens…

Hope you had a lovely weekend.
