This glazed meatloaf recipe is tender, juicy, and topped with a sweet and tangy homemade glaze. An easy comfort food dinner the whole family will love.
Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a sheet pan with parchment paper or foil.
Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook for 5 to 7 minutes until softened and lightly golden. Add the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
In a large bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and milk and let sit for a few minutes to soak.
Add the eggs, sautéed onion and garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and ketchup, then stir to combine.
Add the ground meat, parsley, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Gently mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
Transfer the mixture to the prepared sheet pan and shape into a loaf about 8 to 9 inches long, smoothing the top slightly.
In a small bowl, mix together the glaze ingredients and spread half over the meatloaf.
Bake for 40 minutes, then remove from the oven and spread the remaining glaze over the top.
Return to the oven and bake for another 15 to 25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
Let the meatloaf rest for 10 to 15 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.Using a mix of beef and pork adds richness and tenderness, but all beef works well too. Ground turkey or chicken can be used for a lighter option.Soaking the breadcrumbs in milk helps create a soft, tender texture and prevents the meatloaf from becoming dense.Sautéing the onions before mixing ensures better flavor and texture.
