This easy cherry crumble is full of flavor with the cherries and the crumb topping. The brown sugar, oats, walnuts, and cinnamon make this a dessert all your guests will love. If you need a quick dessert for your next get-together, this one is always a hit.
Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Make sure it does not turn brown. Remove from the heat. Reserve ½ tablespoon to butter the baking dish.
In a large bowl add the flour, brown sugar, oats, walnuts, cinnamon, and coarse kosher salt. Mix until you have a coarse consistency.
Pour the melted butter over the oat mixture.
Allow the crumble to sit for 10 minutes.
Butter the 9x13 baking dish with a pastry brush with the reserved butter.
Add the cherry pie filling to the baking dish and spread evenly over the bottom of the dish.
Sprinkle the crumb topping on top.
Bake at 350° F uncovered for 30-40 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
Remove the baking dish from the oven. Allow cherry crumble to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream and enjoy.
