This is a classic recipe for peanut butter cookies. With a combination of brown sugar, white sugar, butter, and peanut butter, these cookies are so full of flavor!
In a large bowl, mix together the brown sugar, granulated sugar, butter, peanut butter, vanilla, and egg with an electric mixer (or stand mixer) on medium speed.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Add to the peanut butter mixture in the large bowl and stir or mix with electric mixer to combine.
Form dough into one-inch balls, and put them a few inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Using a fork dipped into granulated sugar, press down onto the dough balls making a crisscross design on the top of cookies.
Bake cookies for about 10 minutes until they turn light brown.
Cool cookies for about 5 minutes on the cookie sheet, and then remove from cookie sheet and transfer them to a wire rack.
Notes
You can use all brown sugar in place of the granulated sugar. Peanut butter chips may be added after adding the dry ingredients at the end of step 2.
