Peanut Butter Cookies Recipe

Jump to Recipe

This is a classic recipe for peanut butter cookies that takes me back to childhood. Kids and cookies just go together, and these cookies are so reminiscent of afternoon snacks with a glass of cold milk. But adults love them, too!

With a combination of brown sugar, white sugar, butter, and peanut butter, these cookies are so full of flavor.

Peanut Butter Cookies

One of my favorite things about this easy cookie recipe is that it’s so easy to remember. With equal amounts of the sugars and the fats, it’s simple to whip up a batch of these quickly.

And, in addition to the delicious flavor, it’s nice to know that the peanut butter adds protein, so that makes them healthy, right? I mean, they’re at least a little bit healthier than some cookies!

I’ve listed them under the “dessert” category, but you could also use them as an afternoon snack. They’re great to add to cookie trays when you’re bringing cookies to a get-together.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of peanut butter should I use?

Any type of peanut butter can be used, but I like to use a smooth (not crunchy) peanut butter. Usually we buy peanut butter with a natural cane sugar sweetener (or no sweetener added at all), but almost any peanut butter will work in this recipe!

What kind of butter works best in this recipe?

I usually use unsalted butter, but salted butter will also work. If your butter is salted, you may want to omit the salt in the recipe, depending on your personal preference for the level of saltiness.
