“He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end. I know that there is nothing better for them than to rejoice, and to do good in their lives, and also that every man should eat and drink and enjoy the good of all his labor–it is the gift of God.”
~Ecclesiastes 3:11-13
As I do every year, I spent the last part of December making plans for the new year. I printed off new calendar pages (this year I designed my own, as I couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for), tweaked the schedule a tiny bit and printed off new schedule pages (we have one for Monday through Thursday and a separate one for Friday, and the weekends don’t really have a scheduled plan).
I created a new book list (here’s what was on my list last year)…
And I redid my whole home management binder, printing off new forms and lists and routines. I enjoy making goals for the new year, as they give me something to aim at. And if I don’t accomplish them all, then I either decide those goals weren’t that important for me, or I try again the following year.
I have also been going through every room of the house and organizing and cleaning. Somehow January always seems like a wonderful time to do that, and it gives me a sense of new beginnings. The older I get, the more thankful I am for each new year. I’m thankful for another chance to glorify God with my life, and a new opportunity to show love to my family and friends. May this be a year of growing closer to Jesus for all of us. He truly makes life beautiful.

Thanks for trying, Joy. That was very kind of you. I will print something out but I just loved seeing the beautiful Scripture at the top.
You're welcome, Kelly. I just wish it would have actually worked!
Hello, I love the calendar pages you made. I do not know how to design things on the computer. Would you be willing to make yours available as a printable?
Blessings
Thank you, Kelly! I'd love to be able to share them, but I have no idea how to do that. I'll see if I can figure it out. 🙂 If you need a calendar quickly, Donna Young's website is where I've printed off my calendars for the past 5 years or so.
Blessings to you,
Joy
Well, I tried to s hare the calendar via Scribd, and it won't let me. I made the calendar in Microsoft Publisher, and it wouldn't let me upload that format. I tried to save it in a different format, and I couldn't do that, either. Sorry! I would suggest Donna Young for calendars, as I mentioned above. She has lots of different ones to choose from, and they're free to print. Hope that's helpful!
I love your color coded schedule pages. Did you make them yourself? I suggested to my DH the other day that we should make reading lists for ourselves after I saw yours. Great idea.
Thank you, Christy! Yes, I make my schedules in Excel. I don't always add the colors, but I happened to have color ink in my printer, and I like to see the different colors for each person. 🙂
Your photos are lovely. I'm impressed with your organization! I, too, enjoy reorganizing and cleaning-up a bit in January after the Christmas decor is put away. The change gives me a little push to get through the next really cold, snowy months! Have a blessed day!
Thanks, Amber! I hope you have a blessed evening!
Oh, this was lovely (and motivating!) to see! This is on my to-do list as well, before school starts up again…I especially love your color-coded schedule (is it MOTH?)
I'd love to hear more about your lists & how you've organized your binder!
Blessings to you & your beautiful family in the New Year!
♥Collette
Thank you, Collette! Yes, I've been making MOTH-inspired schedules for 13 years now. I'm really good at schedule-making. It's sticking to the schedule that's harder! 🙂
Maybe I can share more about the binder in another post.
Blessings to you and your family, too!
