I love denim.  And I love black.  And, I love stripes!  So, I tend to have a lot of these three elements in my outfits quite often.  This past week was no different.
These photos aren’t that great.  We were rushing out the door to drive to dinner with family about two hours away.  A few of the children were still looking for shoes and things they wanted to take with them.  I asked my seven-year-old daughter to quickly snap a couple pictures of my outfit.  At about the time we took the first picture, she looked over toward the woods, and noticed that one of our bunnies was hopping around out there!  She’s mostly white, so she was easy to spot (and would have been an easy prey for a hawk or many other predators!).  So, the outfit pictures were forgotten as we rushed over to catch the bunny and get her back in her cage to safety.  The hutch door had come off, and needed to be repaired, and we didn’t have time to do it properly, so the older children secured it with masking tape! Thankfully, it worked until a couple days later when my husband was able to fully repair it.
Anyway, here’s what I’m wearing:
Striped Top:  Forever 21
Denim Vest:  J.Jill (bought on ebay, several years ago)
Black Eyelet Skirt:  Gap (bought on ebay several years ago)
Black Sandals:  Walmart
Favorite Natural Makeup:  Cowgirl Dirt
I’ve been so happy that the weather has started cooling off a bit!  One morning it was 50 degrees!  I dug out my denim jacket (which I LOVE to wear!).
Navy/White Dress with White Belt:  Zulily
Denim Jacket: Forever 21 (from my daughter’s closet)
Black Mary Janes
And here I’m wearing my denim vest again!
Denim Vest:  J. Jill (ebay)
White T-Shirt:  Forever 21
Black Maxi Skirt:  Downeast Basics (purchased from Zulily)
Turquoise Blue Clogs/Sandals:  Zulily
And here’s what I wore to church yesterday:
Black Cami:  Forever 21
Black Knit Cardigan:  Walmart
Linen Floral Skirt:  (FREE!–My mom gave it to me.)
White Sandals:  Payless
And here’s my lovely daughter making breakfast on Sunday morning.  I thought she looked cute and casual.
Navy Blue Top:  Thrift Store
Floral Top:  Thrift Store
Pink Tiered Skirt:  Zulily
She wore an extra-small Flexi Clip in her hair:
One day last week we had fun trying out some different hairstyles with my favorite fall Flexi Clip, the Festive Fallen Leaf.  (The one shown in all the photos below is a large.)  I love the center design and the fall colors:
Someone had asked me how to make a Gibson Tuck, so I thought I’d show you here.
You start with a ponytail:
Then you make a “hole” in the ponytail:
Tuck all the hair into the hole you just made, and keep tucking until it’s all in there:
Secure with a Flexi Clip:
Then I decided to create a few other styles.  Here I did a French Braid and then tucked up the end and secured with a Flexi Clip.
A messy bun:
A drop bun:
A French Twist:
A simple low bun:
And a tucked-up ponytail:
I can’t wait to wear this clip to fall family gatherings!  It reminds me so much of Thanksgiving!  You can find this Flexi Clip and many others at my website.  If you need help figuring out which size you’d need, you can find a sizing chart here, or feel free to send me an email!
