November was a crazy and very busy month for our family. I actually prefer for life to be slower and not so frenetic, but sometimes it seems like I’m swept away by a current of life events that are beyond my control. The past few days I’ve been trying to get back on track, and I’m still not there yet. But we’re getting there!
I’ve noticed that my children thrive with routine and also creative activities. Today I was feeling a bit out-of-sorts, so I pulled out these pine cones we gathered in October.
As I brought out the glue and glitter, I was amazed at how such a simple activity seemed to calm and refocus everyone. I think it helped that I didn’t have any objective other than making pine cones sparkly. We made a huge mess, and I’m pretty sure we’ll have glitter all over the kitchen for quite some time, but it was worth it to me. And now I have some glittered pine cones for the wreath I’m hoping to assemble tomorrow.

Is it just me, or does it seem like time is going by faster? I seriously feel like it was just yesterday that I filled out my new planner for this year. And now it’s almost time to fill out the 2015 daily planner! If  you’re in need of a planner for the upcoming year (which is just around the corner!), you can get free shipping on my favorite planner through December 6th (just a few more days).

Beautiful pinecones….I think we will try that! I, too, dislike that fast pace of life! I have to deliberately try to put brakes on while still focusing on the events that made it hectic….sometimes very hard to do. Blessings to you from Kansas!

Thank you, Gail! I agree, it can be so hard to stay focused on what really matters in the midst of busyness. Blessings to you! ♥
