Homemade Ranch Dressing
Ranch Dressing
Makes about 3/4 cup
1/3 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup sour cream
1/4 cup milk (or a little more, for a thinner dressing)
1 tablespoon white vinegar
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
1/4 teaspoon dried dill weed
1. In a small bowl, whisk together all ingredients. If you like your dressing a little thinner, add more milk until you get the desired consistency.
2. Pour into a pint-size container with a tight-fitting lid. Cover and refrigerate at least 30 minutes to meld flavors together before serving. Store, tightly covered, in refrigerator up to 2 weeks.
This is so easy that a child can make it, and they think it’s really fun. I have also used this for a vegetable dip (I make it thick, without adding any extra milk).
I got this recipe from the book Family Feasts for $75 a Week, which has lots of great recipes and money-saving grocery tips.
Oh, I know this post is from July…but I'm behind on my reading and commenting! Does this recipe taste like Hidden Valley original ranch? Oooooh, I hope so! Copying this down to try it out soon 😀 Thanks for sharing!

Hi Lori!
Well now, I can't say for sure whether it tastes like Hidden Valley original ranch! 🙂 I have tried different ranch dressing recipes, and this one is my favorite so far. But I don't want you to be disappointed! If you try it let me know what you think–I hope you like it!
