A few days ago we went to pick strawberries at my parents’ house.  We had such a wonderful time, working together as a family.  The organic strawberries were abundant and beautiful!

We ended up with all these baskets and buckets full of berries.
We spent yesterday afternoon trying to preserve them all!  Mom was over at our house, so she helped, too.  I couldn’t have done it without you, Mom!  Thank you!
We made several containers of strawberry freezer jam.
We also made about three containers (large and small) of strawberry puree, to be used in various ways.  And, we froze two gallons of whole strawberries.
And my favorite part was canning some strawberry jam!

We’ve also had many fresh strawberries to eat.  I have been skimming the cream off the top of our raw milk and making whipped cream (flavored with a bit of sugar and vanilla).  So very delicious.
