My husband’s parents wanted to take us to the zoo, and we were finally able to go last week. It was perfect weather for it! There was hardly anyone else there the whole time, and it was so nice! It started off cool (in the 60’s) and overcast, but after a bit the sun came out. The children enjoyed feeding the swan, some geese, and the fish.

One of the highlights of the whole trip was getting to ride the train. We had so much fun! Ian’s little face just lit up, and later he said it was his favorite part, as he loves anything to do with trains.
Feeding the giraffes was also a favorite with all the children.
This giraffe looked like he was saying hi to Ian!

Here the girls were looking for the cheetahs, I think it was. They were way in the back so they were kind of hard to see.

My favorite animals to see were these adorable little river otters. When they spotted us they ran right up to us, and then they slid into the water and started swimming. We moved over to the place where you can watch them swim, and they were so cute!

The sun came out!

Faith said her favorite animals were in the petting zoo. Just your average goats and things! Maybe someday we should get a goat if they are such a big hit! Ian liked this cute little donkey, too.

This is the first zoo trip we’ve had where the majority of our children (except for Ezra) were all old enough to really benefit from it and enjoy it. It was such an enjoyable trip, and I’m so thankful to my husband’s parents for taking us!
