My Little Curly Girl

I love this hair:
I think it is absolutely gorgeous!
It is actually very easy to take care of.
My daughter’s curls are simply wonderful!  She will be 6 years old in a couple of months, and her hair has never been cut.  This is the natural length, but when you stretch out these curls, they go to the middle of her back.
Wherever we go people always stop us and comment on her hair.  In some cases they have even asked to touch it!  Men comment on it almost as often as women do.  They also usually say, “I bet you got that curly hair from your mama!”  ðŸ™‚
Because I also have curly hair, taking care of F’s hair comes naturally to me.  I make sure she has lots of conditioner on it, and we don’t brush it.  Curly hair shouldn’t be brushed, unless you like frizz!  If you’re hoping for shinier, well-defined curls, then use a wide-toothed comb (or just your fingers) to comb some conditioner through it, and this works well.  Of course, there are varying degrees of curliness, this is just what works for our hair.  F’s hair looks great right after it is washed, and she doesn’t require gel.  But my hair doesn’t curl up as nicely as hers does unless I use gel.
The one thing about curly hair is that no two days are the same with it–it always looks different!  My personality finds this a bit unsettling at times, but I’m beginning to be thankful for my curls.  ðŸ™‚

  1. Hi Lori!

Thank you so much for visiting! Isn't it the truth that "the grass is always greener?" 🙂 I've been longing for straight hair my whole life. It apparently isn't going to happen, so I'm learning to be thankful that I have hair! 🙂

Thanks again for your comment, and for stopping by to visit!

  2. Hi Joy! I linked here from Mary's blog (Mary's Little Corner)…love it here!

My hair is super straight…isn't the grass always greener on the other side? I've paid $80 to get curls like yours, and they NEVER looked right, LOL! Dealing with fine, soft, perfectly straight hair is no picnic, either, mostly trying to find someone who can cut it properly (every single cut shows, so layering it is really hard; most hairdressers cannot do it right). Anyway, what gorgeous hair! Now I'm off to visit some more here, your blog is lovely!

    Blessings,
    Lori (aka IllinoisLori)
