Remember this cowl I started a while back?  The one I was planning for a Christmas gift?  Well, I just finished it this weekend.  The first one I made didn’t fit.  I made the whole thing all the way to binding off and cutting my yarn, and then when I tried it on, it simply wouldn’t go over the head!  So, not knowing what to do, I pulled the whole thing apart and started again.
I thought through what could have possibly gone wrong, and I couldn’t decide what the problem was.  But I decided to eliminate the decreases in the last part of the pattern, and this time it fit perfectly!  So, I’m very happy to have this done.  Thankfully, the intended recipient could care less if he got it for Christmas or not.  And it’s just in time for the snowy weather we’re getting.
I’m currently reading Kept for the Master’s Use by Frances R. Havergal (I got mine from here), and being challenged and encouraged by it.
For my next project, I have this lovely Noro yarn that I’m planning to turn into a scarf/shawl.  I’ll share my progress on that next time.
What are you creating or reading?

I love the colour of your cowl and it turned it beautifully. I also really like the yarn for your next project. Please post a photo of it when you're done.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, tea and simplicity, and leaving a comment. I really appreciate it.

Thank you, Sandra! If I ever get my next project done, I'll definitely post a picture–so far I've started it and ripped it out three times! 🙂

Nice cowl. Do you knit socks? I love to knit socks.

Thank you, Christy! I haven't tried socks yet. My mom has made them, though, and they're beautiful. I love sock yarn.

I love seeing your knitting projects, it always inspires me to keep plugging away at mine! 🙂 Right now I'm working on a cowl too, except that it is for me, lol. I have had this very bulky and thick yarn lying around for ages and so I'm trying to make my cowl out of that. I have started so many projects with this yarn and always end up ripping them out, so hopefully this project is a success!

Thank you, Angela! I hope your cowl turns out to be just what that yarn needed to turn into! I'm thinking about doing another cowl sometime, as this one was a lot of fun after I figured out how to make it fit right! 🙂

What a wonderful cowl. I am sure the recipient will love it. I can't wait to see your scarf/shawl in progress. I need to post a updated picture of my hubby's sweater. Hopefully tomorrow I can post it. I have been struggling with the flu the last couple of days. I hope I am on the mends now.

    Blessings and ((HUGS))

Thanks, Mary! I made it for my 9-year-old son, but my daughter tried it on, and she likes it, too. I may have to make another one!

So sorry to hear you've had the flu. We had it the week of Christmas, and it was miserable.

      Blessings!

Thank you, Christina! Crocheted hearts sound fun! I need to start crocheting, so I can teach my girls. I've only made a few things, and I can do a chain, but that's about it! 🙂
