How to make money for Christmas fast, when you don’t have much time! Christmas will be here before we know it. And with the holidays comes the need for extra money for gifts. Here are some quick ways to make money before Christmas.
How to Make Money for Christmas Fast
Some of these ideas for earning extra cash for Christmas are quick, while some of them will take a bit more time. I decided to go ahead and include all of them to give you several ideas to choose from. Here are the best ideas for making extra income for the holidays.
Babysit
Babysitting is probably an obvious idea for making some quick cash. One of the reasons why this is such a popular idea is because it works! So many parents are looking for someone to watch their children for an hour or two (or longer!). This can be a win/win situation, because you make some cash, and you get to help out someone else at the same time!
House Sit
Many times people are going to be out of town and need someone to take care of things at their house while they’re away. This may include bringing in the mail, watering the garden, or feeding their pets.
Walk Dogs
If you love animals, walking dogs might be a great way to make some extra money quickly! If you really love spending time with animals, you could also offer to pet-sit for people going out of town.
Sell Your Stuff
One of the quickest ways to make some extra money is to sell your unused stuff. Our family has successfully sold outgrown children’s clothes, used books, textbooks, and electronics online (on eBay). It’s really a pretty simple way to make some cash. Check out this post for more ideas for what to sell and how to sell it to make money fast.
Get a Part Time Job
During the holidays, there are often lots of jobs in retail available. So many businesses are needing extra help for the Christmas season. If you have the time to spare, you can often get a job that will help you make extra money for Christmas.
Save Your Change
I’ve mentioned this before, but saving your extra change can help you “make” some extra cash pretty painlessly! Just get a jar to designate as “the change jar,” and start putting any change you find in there.
Empty out your pockets, clean out your purse, and add everything you find to the change jar. We always have fun adding up the total amount together as a family!
Sell Crafts and Handmade Items
If you love creating handmade things, consider selling them at local craft fairs or online in an Etsy shop. Handmade items often sell really well before the holidays.
Sell Used Books
I mentioned selling unneeded items (including books) above, but I thought it was worth mentioning again. If you have books on your shelf that you’re not using, consider selling them online.
There are a variety of places where you can sell your books online, including eBay and Amazon. We also regularly sell our used books to a local bookseller who will pay cash for them.
Become a Mystery Shopper
I have a friend who did this as a young mom, and she really enjoyed it. She was able to go shopping or go out to eat and then get paid for it!
Use Swagbucks
We’ve been using Swagbucks for quite a few years, and it’s a great way to earn free Amazon gift cards! All you do is sign up for Swagbucks, search the web, and then you earn points which you can then cash in for Amazon gift cards. We’ve often used these to help buy Christmas gifts. Get started with Swagbucks here.
Shop Online
Did you know you can actually earn money while doing your online shopping? We’ve been using Ebates for years, and it’s a great way to get paid for doing something you’re planning to do anyway!
This way of making money for Christmas isn’t as fast, but if you get started now, it can add up over time.
All you have to do is sign up for Ebates and then use their app or Chrome extension while you do your shopping. Ebates will help you find the best deals and also give you cashback rewards and sometimes coupons to help you save and make money! Start earning cash with Ebates here!
Brainstorm More Ideas
There are so many more ideas for making money for Christmas that I didn’t even mention here. Things like becoming a driver, delivering groceries, flipping furniture, and teaching English online. If you’re needing some extra cash for Christmas, sit down and brainstorm all the possible ideas you can think of. Hopefully one of them will be just right for you!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
