I saw this picture on the Pottery Barn website, and I fell in love with the idea (but not the price!).

We happened to be in a flea market, and I found an old frame that I thought I could use to create a similar appearance to the Pottery Barn one. It was pretty cheap, so that was a good thing.

I gathered together some basic supplies like wire, wire cutters (I borrowed these from my son), and some picture hanger things.

I removed the original hanging wire because it was hanging in a horizontal direction, and I wanted it to hang vertically.

Then I nailed the little picture-hanging-things to the back and wound the wire around them.

After I had all my wires hanging across the frame, I got a box of small wooden clothespins from Walmart and used them to hang photos and cards from friends and family on the wires.

It now hangs in our kitchen (even though I had it hanging in the living room in the photo below), and it’s a nice visual reminder of our loved ones.

I am so happy with the way it turned out, and how simple and affordable it was!

Have you ever made any fun and affordable DIY projects like this?
