Sewing and Knitting

I finally got to my sewing projects, and finished the sewing for the girls. I made four dresses for the younger girls, and three skirts for my older daughter. I was so happy to have these finished. The girls picked out this fabric themselves…so very bright and cheerful! The finished dresses turned out cuter than I had anticipated. I was in such a hurry that I did make some sewing mistakes, so don’t look too closely at them…but the girls were so happy with them!!
We enjoyed a lovely visit with my mom last week. We had such a nice time! Thanks for coming, Mom! I really enjoyed just having some time to talk. While she was here she played games with the children and hung laundry on the line and cooked and taught my girls how to knit!  It was such a help to have her here, and my husband was able to get the garage cleaned out and the yard mowed, and I got a skirt sewn up for myself! I also cut out a blouse that I’m almost finished with. I’ll try to post pictures when I’m totally done with them.

  1. Hi Babychaser!

I made these dresses about 2 years ago for my girls (I moved this post here from another blog in July, so the date isn't correct), and they are still getting use out of them!

The pattern is McCall's M4432, which may be out of print now, but you could probably find it on ebay. I've been making this same dress pattern for about 6 years. I know what you mean about zippers…I don't like them either!

  2. I'd love to know what that pattern is for the girls. I noticed it in a couple other posts and I would love to have it for my girls! The best I have is similar but has a zipper in the back. I'd rather never again put in another zipper, so those buttons look appealing! 🙂
