Lavender Mist for Curls
This lavender mist helps hydrate the hair and it revives curls. As a curly girl, I am constantly fighting against frizz! If I don’t have time to wash my hair, I’ll mist it with a bit of lavender spray, add a bit of gel, and scrunch it. It looks better if it’s been washed, but this works in a pinch!

Here’s the recipe, in case you’d like to make some for yourself:
- 1/2 gallon water
- 5 drops lavender essential oil
- 3 empty spray bottles
1. Â Fill a large pot with a half gallon of water.
2. Â Cover, bring to a boil, and simmer for an hour to get rid of impurities. Â (Check occasionally to make sure water isn’t boiling away.)
3. Â Remove from heat, add lavender oil, stir, and replace lid.
4. Â Let steep until cool, then pour into empty spray bottles using a funnel. Â (I use various sizes of bottles, and I make sure to keep a small bottle in my purse, so I can revive my curls and tame frizz wherever I am.) You can also store the extra in a glass jar with a plastic lid.
This recipe comes from the Curly Girl Handbook by Lorraine Massey.
After I spritz my hair with lavender spray and add some gel, a flexi clip holds it all back neatly!
