Please Pray for Me

My beloved father passed away on Monday (February 29th). I’ve cried buckets of tears. I just can’t imagine life without my daddy. The funeral is tomorrow (Friday). Please pray for our family during this very painful time of grief.

  1. I am so sorry for the loss of your father. I cannot imagine the pain of losing a parent, but I know the pain of good-byes having lost several babies, including our baby girl who died in my arms. May God's sweet, faithful comfort surround you and your family during this hard time. You will continue to be in my prayers!

  2. Joy, I am so sorry to hear about your father. I will keep your mom and family in my prayers. I belong to a ladies bible study and we are studying the importance of prayer.

  3. Oh, precious Joy! My heart and prayers are with you. My father passed away a couple of years ago, and I totally feel your pain! God bless you and make His presence felt strongly among you! He is your peace that transcends understanding…

  4. Oh Joy, my heart goes out to you during this very difficult time. I lost my own father six years ago at 60 years old. Losing a parent is one of the hardest things to go through. I am praying for you and your family.

    1. Sara, thank you so much. I'm so sorry for the loss of your father. 60 is so young. That's what I keep thinking and hearing from others about my father (who was 63). You're so right about how hard it is. I think no one really realizes how hard it is until you actually go through it. I appreciate your prayers so much.

  5. Joy, I was thinking of you and this feeling came over me that your father has passed. Please know that I am praying for you, your mother and your family.

    1. Jenn, that kind of gave me chills. To think that you were thinking of me and had this feeling that my father had passed away…thank you so much for praying for us. ♥

  6. I am so, so sorry! I pray right now for you that the Lord will comfort you and hold you up to go through this time of trial. And, HE will…lost my wonderful dad a week before Christmas 2008 and did not think I could possibly go on, but with HIS grace I was able to. You will be too and I pray for you & your family. GOD BLESS

  8. I'm so sorry that your father has passed on. I know you and your family have been through so much. I was praying and hoping that the doctors could keep him going. He is no longer in pain, which is a relief. Now comes the hard part of living without him until you are reunited again. I pray for God's peace for you!

  10. Oh, I am so sorry to hear this news. I will pray for the Holy Spirit to comfort your family during this most difficult time. I don't know you except through your blog, but I thought about you when I viewed the favorites saved on my laptop. I have prayed for you in the last few weeks and will continue to do so.

  11. I lost my Dad almost 1 year ago. He had Alzheimer's. He thought I was his mom because I look a lot like her. Both of my folks moved in with us over 10 years ago and I was privileged to have been able to care for them. He was in a happy place while still alive. He lead an extraordinary life and we miss him too. Life does get better as time goes on. You begin to smile again and remember him with a warm smile and it will heal your heart. Scripture tells us to, "Rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep." Rom 12:15. You have a fellow mourner who understands what you are going through. Be comforted in the fact that now his pain and suffering are done with and he is at peace in his sleep. God bless you and your family as you go through this very difficult time in your lives. Maria.

  12. I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your beloved father. My heart aches for you and your family. I feel as though I have traveled this journey with you, praying and carrying your burden. I am continuing to pray that God will comfort you and give you the peace that only He can give. Sending you hugs my friend.

    Your sister in Christ,

  13. Dear Joy,
I am so, so sorry for your loss.

Lord, I pray that through this period of "darkness" that Joy and her family will feel the shelter from You, the Most High. That they will experience comfort and peace in such a way that they KNOW it is YOU sustaining and keeping them. Though we know that Your will is best, that path can be hard and painful, I pray for Your strength for this sweet family.

"And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28

My thoughts and prayers are with you.
    Love,
    Carol

  15. I'm praying that you find refuge in the shelter of His wings…And that you are surrounded by His loving presence as you walk forward.

  18. Good Morning! Not such a great one when you seem to be mourning the loss of your father and you are hurting. Praying for you today that the Lord would wrap his arms around you and your family as you go through this day and the days to come. May you find comfort and joy in your memories that you will share with others today remembering your father. Lifting you up in prayer today that you may find peace in the love of Jesus and know that he is there for you. 19. Praying for you and your family, Joy! When my mom passed last year, I was able to find some comfort in remembering that she left this world exactly when God had planned that she would. I still cried and cried – I still cry – but there was a sweet comfort in knowing that God was in charge of the timing, and that she was henceforth to be happy in His presence. May God bless and comfort your hearts and I pray your time tomorrow celebrating your daddy with others who love him is a special time. – Karyn Borne

    1. Thank you so much for sharing that, Karyn. I'm so sorry about the loss of your mom. It is very comforting to know it was God's timing, even though it still hurts. Thank you for your encouraging thoughts and your prayers for us. ♥
