Christmas Homemaking

Oh, I love this time of year! I love the smell of cranberries, cinnamon, cloves, and anise simmering on the stove. I love Christmas lights and ornaments, and I love celebrating advent with my family.
Last week I was too busy cleaning and cooking and creating to spend much time on the computer. One day I organized the boys’ room (again). Another day I spent hours in the kitchen just because I wanted to. I cooked a pumpkin that was left over from November, and that night we had pumpkin soup and roasted pumpkin seeds. I also made some cranberry wassail and cranberry coffee cake, and some sugar-free (Trim Healthy Mama-friendly) candied pecans.
In between all the homemaking, we also took time to enjoy some family time—playing games and making ornaments and our annual no-bake gingerbread houses!
