My New High Efficiency Dryer
Isn’t it a beauty? And it will hold a whole load of laundry, too! Since we had just put it together, I didn’t have a load of laundry handy, so I used some beloved quilts to demonstrate. The Double Wedding Ring was made by my maternal grandmother, and given to us as a wedding gift.
And this bright and cheerful quilt was made by my husband’s grandmother. I feel happy every time I look at this quilt. And the vinyl wall art I reviewed last year for a blog giveaway (and was so happy to receive it for free!).
Sorry about all the quilt love. 🙂 Back to the drying rack. I love that this drying rack is so big, and yet it folds up compactly for storage.
I’m so thankful to my parents, who gave me the Christmas money so I could buy this. I think everyone was a little surprised that I used it on a drying rack, but I’ve been wanting one for several years now, and I think it will save so much money in the long run. I bought it from Homestead Drying Racks, and this is The Homesteader–it’s the biggest one. They have lots of other lovely things on their website, too.
Joy, are you looking for hints of spring in your part of the world? My girls and I keep hoping :).
Anyway, love, LOVE that laundry rack, its actually a favorite page on my computer, but I'm still saving up my pennies. I use laundry racks because my youngest daughter has terrible seasonal allergies, she's gone from allergy shots 3x week to twice a year – but it took years. If anyone has a child with allergies it isn't recommended that you line dry outside, you'll just catch all the pollen that come floating by.

That is a lovely drying rack, so sturdy looking. (And it goes without saying that it's highly efficient!) I think it would makes a great quilt rack, too! 🙂

My internet was being really slow when I was trying to read this page…no pictures were coming up, only the text and so when I read, "Since we had just put it together…", I was thinking, "What kind of dryer do you have to put together?!?" and THEN the pictures started to pop up and I saw it was a Homestead Drying Rack. I had a good laugh about that one! Congratulations! I have had my eye on one of those for a long time. My Mom just switched over to an off-peak electric meter and since we are on the same property, we are on it as well. I am now limited to doing laundry and running the dishwasher to Sundays and after 10pm on weekdays. I have to admit, for my family of 7 it is a bit of a challenge, but I think one of these would be very handy so I wouldn't have to wait to dry our clothes! 🙂

Wow that is awesome! I air dried our laundry yesterday (three loads!) because the dryer vent is all clogged up so machine drying isn't efficient (not to mention a fire risk). So until we get that fixed, air drying it is. I was really wishing I had a drying rack, but I ended up hanging it all up on hangers in the laundry room and shower curtain rods in the bathrooms. It worked well, although I ran out of space and had to leave the rest of the laundry for today.

I hang a lot of things on hangers, too. The drying racks are very useful, though!
I really like your quilt. My husband has one that got passed down from his grandmother. It is very similar to yours except the colors are more of what I refer to as harvest or fall colors, oranges, browns etc…
I also like the decorative tin on your entertainment stand. Reminds me of Decorative Paper-Pricking.

Thanks for sharing the link to your post! My husband found this antique pie safe at a flea market for very cheap (the door had been ripped off). I used to keep school things in it, but now it has tea pots, cups and saucers, serving platters, and other things that I don't use on a daily basis.

Oh I have seen their drying racks and thought they were so beautiful. They look like they would be really sturdy too. I love your quilts!! I have a few from my grandmother that I dearly love. 🙂
The drying rack does seem very sturdy. I have had to warn the children that it is NOT for climbing on, though! 🙂

I have been using drying racks, like these for over 5 years now…they are certainly quite handy during the winter…they keep the air quite moist 🙂 Thank you for sharing Joy…
They're great, aren't they? I've found several throughout the years at flea markets and thrift stores, but they never held up to all the laundry.
