One way we try to save is simply by turning things off. Lights, appliances, and anything unnecessary.
We also keep our heater at about 60-65 degrees (we like it cooler at night, especially). For some this may seem a bit cool, but we all prefer it this way (none of us likes the feeling of an overly-warm and stuffy room, and the dry air bothers our sinuses). We just wear more layers of clothing and we all have down comforters that we sleep under. When we have guests over we do try to get it to around 70-75+ degrees, since we know we’re probably unusual in our preference for cooler air!
I also have a goal of using the dryer less, since I know it uses up a lot of electricity. That’s why I got this huge drying rack!

I love your drying rack! I would like to not use our dryer as much as well and this would come in handy. I try to turn our lights off more, but I love the glow of my lamps, so I think I might try candles instead.

I know what you mean about the lamps–I love lamplight, too!

Your attitude is such a blessing! You've been upbeat, positive, and creative with ways to cut cost and bring in extra funds. While I'm sure there will be down days, I applaud your consistent joy in a less than ideal circumstances. Such a great example!

Aww, that's very kind of you to say! I will admit that it's easier to be joyful in writing than it is to be joyful inside my mind sometimes! 🙂
