Getting Started With The Tummy Team {+ A Discount Code For You!}

How to heal diastasis recti with the Tummy Team. My thoughts as I’m beginning the program.

First Week with The Tummy Team

I’m so excited! This week I’m beginning the Core Foundations 8-week Online Training Program with The Tummy Team!
I received my splint and I am really happy with the way it fits. I got the 3-panel splint, which is the most popular one. I’ve tried other splints in the past (including one from a very well-known diastasis recti program), and the Tummy Team’s 3-panel splint is the best I’ve ever tried. (The above photo was my very first attempt at putting it on, and it doesn’t look like I’m doing it right. After watching the how-to video, now I know how to do it!)
I’m showing it over my clothes, but I wear this underneath my clothing, but not next to the skin. I’m wearing either a tank top or cami underneath the splint. It’s more comfortable this way, and it also extends the life of the splint since you don’t have to wash it as often.
The splint is a very important link to healing diastasis recti. It’s kind of like a cast on a broken bone. So, that means I’m wearing this as much as possible, even while sleeping. Last night I was able to wear it for almost 4 hours and then I woke up feeling like I just had to take it off! I’m working to build up tolerance to it, and hoping to get to the point where I’m able to wear it all night. It really is increasing my awareness of my abdominals, and it reminds me to activate my core muscles in my daily activities.
I actually got started with the program on Saturday, familiarizing myself with the videos and all of the material. I’m impressed with how well the information is presented and how thorough it is. I’m going to be very well-educated about my core when I’m done! I love that Kelly not only tells you what to do and how to do it, but she also tells you why.
As I mentioned in my original diastasis recti post, I’ll be posting updates about my progress along the way. If you’d be interested in doing the program along with me, Kelly (the owner of The Tummy Team), has kindly offered a discount for my readers (good through March 2015)!

In my next tummy-related post, I’ll share details about my diastasis (including my starting measurements) and where I’m at after two weeks in the program.

  1. I'm sorry for all the questions, but have you tried the Tupler splint…is that the one you were referring to as having tried? My midwife is recommending the Tupler Technique, but I'm still "researching". giggle. Thanks! (I don't really have much of a DR, but am expecting our 9th and have had lots of back trouble)

    1. No problem, Shera! Yes, I did try a couple of different Tupler splints several years ago. I think they may have a new one out that I haven't tried. The Tupler Technique is very good, but I received way more help with The Tummy Team. Hope that helps! 🙂
