The Button Snake

This is such a simple activity to make for your preschooler to teach buttoning skills.  {I came across this idea at Counting Coconuts.}
All you do is get a piece of ribbon and sew a button at each end.
Then cut up a stack of felt squares, and carefully cut a small slit in each square.  Make sure you don’t get the slit too big (use the size of your button to determine the size you should make the slit).
Let your little one thread all the felt squares on the ribbon.
Easy and cute!

  1. Very nice!! I recently made a button snake for a busy bag exchange too (it's on my blog). I did various shapes instead of squares only, but if I could change anything about my project, I would've done just squares like you. It was SO time consuming to cut out all those little shapes! Yours looks great!!

    1. Thank you, Gabby! I've been thinking of making one of these with different shapes, but it would take longer to cut out the other shapes, so I may not do it! Thanks so much for stopping by! 🙂
