Spreading Christmas Cheer {With a Video}

The Christmas season is in full swing at our house, and our children have welcomed the return of greenery and lights and Christmas music. Today I’m sharing a video I took of my two oldest daughters singing “What Child is This.” They are not professional musicians (and have never had any sort of music lessons at all), but I love listening to them sing in their own simple style. (If you’re reading in an email, you’ll need to click through to the blog to see the video.)
What Child Is This

What child is this, who, laid to rest,
On Mary’s lap is sleeping?
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet,
While shepherds watch are keeping?
This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing:
Haste, haste to bring Him laud,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.
So bring Him incense, gold, and myrrh,
Come, peasant, king, to own him.
The King of kings salvation brings,
Let loving hearts enthrone Him.
Raise, raise a song on high,
The virgin sings her lullaby
Joy, joy for Christ is born,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.
This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing:
Haste, haste to bring Him laud,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.
