How to Make Instant Pot Hard Boiled Eggs
Instant Pot Hard Boiled Eggs are so simple to make! Make perfect hard boiled eggs in your pressure cooker with this easy Instant Pot recipe.
We eat a lot of hard boiled eggs at our house. Boiled eggs are a simple, natural food, and a great source of protein.
They’re great to have on hand for snacks, quick breakfasts, and lunch (we love them in egg salad sandwiches!).

I kept hearing about how wonderful the Instant Pot was for making boiled eggs. When I first got my Instant pot, I wasn’t quite sure what to do with it. I asked friends for advice, and several of them suggested starting out with boiled eggs.
There’s a reason why everyone was suggesting Instant Pot boiled eggs as a great starter recipe—they’re simple to make and almost impossible to mess up!
This recipe couldn’t be simpler, but the results are wonderful. Pressure cooking eggs really does make the shell slide right off (something I had heard over and over from friends).
To start this recipe, put the steamer rack in the bottom of your Instant Pot. This is the Instant Pot I have, and the rack came with it.
Carefully place the eggs on the rack, and add 1 cup of water to the pot. I used 8 eggs, but you could do any amount that will fit on your rack.
Close and lock the lid, and make sure the vent is set to sealing. Use the manual button to set the timer for 5 minutes at high pressure.
It will take several minutes for the pressure to build up before the cooking cycle starts, and then it will take 5 minutes after that to cook.
After the timer goes off, do a natural pressure release for 5 minutes, then do a quick release. Remove the eggs from the pot and place them into a bowl filled with cool water.
After the eggs have cooled, peel them. After cooking in the Instant Pot, my shells slide right off, and they’re super easy to peel!
