Best Planner for Homemakers

This is the best planner for homemakers I’ve used yet!

Planners are great tools for keeping your home and your life organized. As someone who loves planners, I’ve tried quite a few of them in my many years of homemaking.

Some were helpful in keeping me organized, but they all lacked something. I was always left searching for something just a little bit better.

After searching for years for the perfect planner, I finally found one that has come pretty close. No, it’s not perfect. I think my ideal planner would probably be HUGE, because I love having lots of space to write. So, my dream planner would likely not be very practical to carry around.

So, even though my favorite planner isn’t perfect, it works well for me. It works so well that I’ve been using this same planner for the past three years.

For me, after years of trying out planners, that’s saying something! My absolute favorite planner for the past several years has been the Passionate Penny Pincher Home Planner.

What Makes This the Best Planner for Homemakers

There are so many things to love about this planner. Here are a few of my favorite features:

1. Goal Planning

There are some goal planning sheets at the front of the planner to help you plan out your goals for the year. And, there’s also a blank page at the beginning of each month that’s perfect for jotting down some monthly goals.

I use this blank page at the beginning of each month to do some brainstorming and goal planning. It works well for me!

2. Budget Planning

Another one of my favorite features of this planner is the monthly budget planning spread. This is a lifesaver for me as it helps me stay on top of our budget.

This is one of the few planners I’ve found that includes budget pages built right into the planner! I’ve looked at other planners with a wipe-off budget page that you use each month, but I like to be able to look back at previous months. And I don’t want to have to use a separate planner that’s just for budgeting.

Every month, my husband and I have a “budget planning meeting,” and we fill out our monthly budget planning sheets together. I always look forward to our monthly planning meeting!

3. Meal Planning

There’s also a space to put your meal plan for each day. This is so helpful when creating your weekly menu.

4. Weekly Planning Spread

I like having the weekly planning spread that allows me to see the whole week at a glance on two pages.

It’s also so helpful that there are daily chores listed on each day, and a Bible reading plan built right into the planner. I don’t always use these, but they’re helpful if you need them.

5. Helpful Checklist to Keep Your Home in Order

Okay, this is the main feature that drew me to this planner. It’s just loaded with checklists to help you stay on top of your cleaning, decluttering, and planning and organizing holidays and events.

All the helpful checklists in this planner are so amazing! This is the only planner I’ve ever seen like it. In the photo below, you can see that each week has a checklist of chores for each day. If you haven’t made your own cleaning schedule yet, this feature can be a lifesaver! You don’t have to come up with a plan, it’s already done for you.

Also, in the photo above, you can see a little spot that says, “organize pantry.” Each week there’s a suggestion for a different area of your home to organize. If you follow these suggestions each week, you’ll have a pretty orderly home by the end of the year!

And, the planner also has a built-in spring cleaning checklist, so you’ll never have to print off another one of those!

  1. A planner is a must for me. I can’t even tell you how many I’ve tried. Then I used a bullet journal for a couple years, but I got tired of having to recreate my templates every week, month, day…whatever the case may be. Finally, this year I created my own out of frustration of not being able to find one. Funny enough I had to split it into 6 months because I like having daily planning pages and, as you said, it got too thick to carry the whole year. Lol! But it’s working better than anything else I’ve tried. I’ve heard lots of good things about this planner too, and it’s pretty. Thanks for sharing with us at #LiveLifeWell.

  2. I love having a planner! It is so important for my week. There are so many things to remember and if I can get it down in an organized manner then so much more gets done. Thank you for this review. I have not tried her planner, but I love her!

    Blessings,

    Amy

  3. I love that this planner focuses on goals and finances. All mom’s need to schedule that into their day to be “stress” free. When you have the right fit for a planner as a mom you feel so ready to conquer everything that is put in front of you. …added bonus you can get it in any month of the year!

  4. I agree with you! This is by far the best planner that I’ve used. I love how setting goals has changed my mindset. I can only imagine how much better it will get as the year progresses! *Hugs*

  5. Hi Joy,
I found this post on Inspire Me Monday by Mostly Blogging. This is great for my New Year’s resolution to organize! 🙂 I am pinning this.
    Thanks,

  6. Do you think this has enough room to write everything you need to do in a day? Seems like I need a lot of space for that every day. I have never used an hourly layout before . Seems like most of the spaces would just say school blocked off. Do you use it like that.

    1. That depends on how much room you like to write. Ideally, I’d love to have a whole page for the day, but then the planner would be huge! Yes, for school hours, it just says “school,” but then I also write in other things I need to do for the day (before and after school). There’s also a place in the hourly layout to put the top three things you need to accomplish, and your meal plans for the day.

  7. I don’t usually use planners, but I did buy this one you recommended. We’ll see how it goes. Thank you for the nice post about it. I’m hoping it may help me get a bit more organized, even though I already am pretty well set up. I know a lot of people use them, I just never got into using one. I did like many of the features you wrote about, too.

    1. I hope you love it, Carol! I use mine daily, and it has really helped me keep track of our budget and other daily things as well as future goals and plans.
