Cheeseburger sliders are also a great party food, and perfect for game nights (they would go great with many of these game night recipes and these party dip recipes).

Ingredients

Find the complete list of ingredients, amounts, and instructions in the recipe card below.

Ground Beef: One pound of ground beef is used to make these cheeseburger sliders.

Olive Oil: You can substitute another type of vegetable oil or coconut oil if you prefer.

Hawaiian Rolls: Homemade rolls can also be used in this recipe. You would need to make sure your rolls are very close together in the pan so that they stick together in one large block when they’re baked.

Onion: The onion is chopped and cooked with the beef for added flavor.

Salt and Pepper: Feel free to adjust the amount of salt in this recipe.

Cheddar Cheese: Any type of cheese can be used (I like to get large bricks of cheese from my food co-op, Azure Standard. Thinly-sliced deli cheese is easiest to work with. If you slice your own, be sure to make the slices as thin as possible.

Butter: Salted butter is used to brush the tops of the rolls. If you prefer, you could also use unsalted butter.

Sesame Seeds: These are optional, but add something extra-special when they’re added to the tops of the rolls!

    5. Without separating the individual buns, cut the buns in half horizontally to create two sheets: top buns and bottom buns.

    6. Spoon the ground beef onto the bottom buns and spread it in an even layer. Add a slice of cheese to each burger, overlapping the slices for extra cheesiness.

    7. Place the top buns over the cheese. Melt the butter in a small saucepan or a microwave-safe bowl and spread the melted butter over the tops of the buns. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.

      How to Serve Cheeseburger Sliders

Serve these cheeseburger sliders with anything you would serve traditional burgers with. Pickles, chips, dips, condiments like ketchup, and mustard are just a few ideas. For a weeknight dinner, I would serve these with a lettuce salad (possibly with homemade croutons and ranch dressing) and a cooked vegetable to make a well-rounded meal. You could also make homemade French fries or sweet potato fries.

      Cheeseburger Sliders Recipe Tips

      • If you want to make these more from-scratch, make your own homemade yeast rolls! Slice your own cheese from a larger brick of cheese (we get ours from Azure Standard).
      • Make sure to drain the fat from the beef to keep your sliders from getting soggy.
      • Cheeseburger sliders can be made up to one day ahead and kept covered in the refrigerator. Add a few extra minutes to the baking time if you’re baking them straight from the fridge.
