I’m always amazed at some of the cute and creative ideas for Thanksgiving treats and desserts, and these turkey brownies are one of the best ideas yet!

Why You’ll Love These Turkey Brownies

The Thanksgiving holiday is one of my favorite days of the year. Getting together with family, some of whom I haven’t seen in a year, and enjoying all kinds of delicious food, make this holiday an extra special one. (Organize your Thanksgiving get-together with this potluck sign-up sheet printable!)

When my five kids were all little, I always tried to come up with some special holiday kid-friendly desserts. And even though we had lots of options for Christmas, there weren’t as many cute Thanksgiving-themed desserts.

One year, we made turkey cookies and decorated them. Another year, we made Autumn cut-out sugar cookies. But these turkey brownies are just so adorable. I know my kids would have loved them!

If you have kids who are old enough to help, they’ll absolutely love making these fun mini turkeys. And, these would look so cute on a fall dessert charcuterie board!

These Thanksgiving party turkey treats are made with Nutter Butter cookies as their head and face, with candy corn “feathers” all cozily perched on a brownie turkey body. Even though these are pretty easy to make with a brownie mix, if you’re really pressed for time, just buy a ready-made pan of brownies from the store.

Ingredients Needed for This Recipe

Brownies: You can make a box brownie mix or buy premade ones. Or if you prefer, you could use your own homemade brownie recipe.

Chocolate frosting: You use frosting as the “glue” that sticks the Nutter Butters to the brownie body.

Nutter Butters: Nutter Butter cookies serve as the head and face of these adorable holiday birds.

M&Ms: M&M candies are used to make the turkey’s beak and wattle.

Candy eyes: Edible candy eyeballs add a cute touch to these turkeys.

Candy Corns: You’ll use candy corns to make your turkey’s feathers.

How to Make Turkey Brownies

1. Line a baking pan with parchment paper or cooking spray and bake brownies according to the package instructions. Brownies are done when a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool completely before removing from the pan. Using a circle cookie cutter, cut out 3 inch circles from the baked brownies.

2. Flip brownies upside down so you are frosting the bottom, which will be smoother than the top. Frost each brownie with a thin layer of chocolate frosting.

3. Place the Nutter Butter onto the frosting in the center of the brownie about half-way down.

4. Cut red, yellow or orange M&Ms in half.

5. Use a small amount of frosting on the back of each candy eyeball and halved M&M to assemble the turkey’s face.

6. Press pieces of candy corn onto each brownie in a fan-like shape to make the feathers.

How to Store Turkey Brownies

Turkey brownies do not need to be refrigerated, as none of the ingredients are perishable.

Store them in an airtight container for several days. The bottom of the brownies may be a little crumbly, so it’s best to store them side by side rather than on top of each other to keep everything intact.
